GCount is a menu bar and/or Dock item that displays the unread status of the inbox of a recently popular email service. It allows to specify an alternate web browser for gCount to use for external links (eg. Open Inbox, Compose Mail). gCount uses your proxy settings, if you use one. Audio files are now scanned for proper extensions.

Gmail Notifier is a Windows program with two optional components: COMPONENT 1 sits in the Windows system tray and notifies a user when Email arrives in a Gmail inbox, and COMPONENT 2 associates “mailto” links with Gmail.

gNotify is a Gmail notification program developed by Michael Isabella of imizzy.com. The gNotify Web site includes download instructions, sample screenshots, and a forum where users can make comments and suggestions and report bugs (from gNotify.com)

GotMailG is a widget for the Dashboard found in Mac OS X 10.4 (and now 10.5 Leopard). It uses the Gmail Atom feed (XML) to determine the number of unread messages in a users Gmail account. This is then displayed using a simple and clear interface that is designed to occupy minimal Dashboard space. GotMailG is Open Source and provided to the public free of charge under the GPL license. You’ve Got Gmail is a Gmail notifier plugin for Trillian Pro. You can manage your Gmail accounts, see the list of the accounts (with new emails number) in the My Mail Accounts section of Trillian and get notified when a new e-mails arrive via systray popup windows.

Email Importing Tools

gExodus is a GUI tool that will assist a user in transferring all of their existing email from a non-Gmail account to their Gmail account.

Gmail Loader is a tool that allows to import your existing email into GMail. The program is designed for Windows or Linux. GML is easy to get, and it is free. The Windows Version is the simplest version to use. All the files you need are included, and there is no need to download Python. The Linux/Source Only version requires Python and the Python Mega Widgets to be downloaded and installed. GMailFS is a Shell Namespace Extension that creates a virtual file system around your Google Mail account, allowing you to use Gmail as a storage medium. GMail Drive creates a virtual file system on top of your Google Gmail account and enables you to save and retrieve files stored on your Gmail account directly from inside Windows Explorer. GMail Drive literally adds a new drive to your computer under the My Computer folder, where you can create new folders, copy and drag’n'drop files to. When you create a new file using GMail Drive, it generates an e-mail and posts it to your account. The e-mail appears in your normal Inbox folder, and the file is attached as an e-mail attachment. GMail Drive periodically checks your mail account (using the Gmail search function) to see if new files have arrived and to rebuild the directory structures. But basically GMail Drive acts as any other hard-drive installed on your computer.

gDisk is a software that turns your GMail account into a portable hard drive so you can always have your important files accessible across the Internet. Requirements: a Mac with Mac OS X (10.3 or above) ansd a GMail account.

gFeeder is a small ticker tape application which allows you to see the contents of your ticker tape at a glance on your OS X desktop.
